I’ve read a few things online, like Joe said, that we’re hoping will help. Supposedly if you don’t cut your grass short, the weeds don’t get enough sun and will die. Also, if you don’t water as frequently, the roots of the grass sink lower in search of water and will help them to be strong. There’s a fine line though.

Unfortunately, I was so mad at the crabgrass that I used a little weed spray on them…now our grass has brown spots. I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.
