Curtains!
Just a mini triumph for us…we got our curtains up in both the living room and dining room of the house. It’s all taking shape! Here are some pics I took with my camera phone…sorry that the quality isn’t the best.

Next Monday we have a contractor coming to paint the exterior of the house. I’m excited to see how it turns out. We picked a three color pallette that is just about as exciting as the city will allow. You see, I had to actually go down to city hall and find colors that were similar, in their binder of approved colors, and then fill out a form. It took me an hour but we are approved!
In other news, I got into a war with the crabgrass that has taken root in our lawn. On Sunday I pulled half a trash can worth of crabgrass out and there’s still more! I used more Weed & Feed and actually got out the Ortho spray weed killer. It’s safe to say that I hate weeds just as much as I hate ants…and I really hate ants! I think the crabgrass is beating me…time to regroup and do more research.
The curtains are gorgeous!! I hate ants too. Maybe you can have it sprayed?

I’ve read a few things online, like Joe said, that we’re hoping will help. Supposedly if you don’t cut your grass short, the weeds don’t get enough sun and will die. Also, if you don’t water as frequently, the roots of the grass sink lower in search of water and will help them to be strong. There’s a fine line though.
Unfortunately, I was so mad at the crabgrass that I used a little weed spray on them…now our grass has brown spots.
I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.
