Pictures of the “New” House…

Monique at 9:19 am | Filed under: DIY, Family, General, Hobbies, Musings

Joe and I have been snapping tons of pictures during the process of moving and working on the house. Some of you may even be in them if you were able to drop by to help out. Over the weekend Joe loaded them on to flickr. I don’t have my drive hooked up so I’m going to link to his flickr photo album and you can see what he’s loaded.

New House Pics

We’ve done a lot that isn’t even pictured, but you get the idea. Besides…there’s still a ton left to do. For those of you who have been asking, looks like we’ll be having the housewarming party in early June. There’s just so much going on until then.

In other news, Joe and I have really been trying to get rid of a lot of stuff. If we don’t use it or if it’s too old, we’re going to be getting rid of it. Can you say Garage Sale? Anyway, one of the items up for deliberation was this old sandwich maker from the 80’s that he brought with him into the marriage.

Now, he’s been telling me about how great his spaghetti sandwiches are and since he only made them for me once (when we were first married), and the spaghetti was cold on the inside, I was all for ditching the sandwich maker. I mean, we lived in the townhome for 3-1/2 years and not once did he use this informercial contraption. I doubt he even knew where it was!

It reared it’s ugly head again while packing up the kitchen and Joe said that if I made spaghetti he would use the leftovers to demonstrate the awesomeness of the sandwich maker. I took him up on the offer and made pasta on Saturday evening.

We had spaghetti sandwiches for lunch yesterday and they were far better than the first one he made me years ago. I asked him to use sourdough bread for mine and it browned to toasty goodness. He has proven that the sandwich maker is indeed a valuable tool…if only so he will cook for me the day after I make pasta. Seriously though…don’t knock the spaghetti sandwich until you’ve tried it. They’re quite tasty! You can come over for one sometime since we’ll be keeping the sandwich maker around for awhile.
