My Vons.com Experience
I never could pass up a chance to give you my opinion…Lola you asked and now you shall receive!
All I can say is…”eh” about my vons.com experience the other night. I wasn’t totally impressed. I miss Home Grocer! The delivery guy didn’t have booties like Home Grocer used to use. It was a rainy night and I would have really appreciated the booties. Also, our delivery window was between 7-9pm. He showed up at 8:55pm. Which, yes, is in the window, but did we have to be the last delivery?
When I answered the door, he said, “Where do you want your groceries…or do you want me to just hand them to you?” I’m sorry…what? I’m paying 10 bucks to have this stuff delivered and you want to hand me the bags and not bring them into the kitchen? I dunno…maybe some people are weird about having delivery people in their homes?
Also, we were unclear as to whether or not we should tip the guy. When we used Home Grocer, they weren’t allowed to accept tips. Joe and I both looked at the vons.com website and also on the web but couldn’t find any guidelines on tipping. So, he didn’t get a tip. Partially because I wasn’t impressed and partially because I didn’t know if I should.
The produce they chose was excellent and everything we’d ordered was there. We got some hot dog buns and they weren’t squished so that was a plus.
vons.com doesn’t even compare to our experience with Home Grocer. Despite the convenience, I’ll be doing my own shopping from now on.
Thanks for the info!
I am not sure it’s worth the extra money to have it delivered. By the way… The house is looking GREAT! I am very impressed!your doing such a great job. I think the guestroom closet is simply the best thing in the whole house… that white is so bright! only kidding.. everything looks great!.. It looks like the kitties are doing well in the new house.
