Kids, Don’t Try This at Home!
I took this picture with my camera phone. Joe is “cutting in” the paint on his new nifty ladder in our new kitchen. My dad made sure the ladder was secure since Joe was half on linoleum and half on the counter top.
This transformer ladder converts into many different configurations and has come in real handy with all of the painting we’ve done in the new house. I climbed it quite a few times to do the same type of work in other parts of the house. What a feeling…my heart was beating hard until I got more used to it.
Good news is that almost all of the painting is done except for a few touch ups. We had a sort of painting party last night with a lot of friends and family stopping in to lend a hand. What a gift…it was so much help!
…and did I mention that we cut a hole in the wall? My dad did a fantastic job getting the hole cut and reframed. Joe was able to help and I think learned quite a bit from the experience.
The contractor started the floors today and we’ll be moving in this Saturday!

Wow - I can’t wait to see the house! You, Joe and your parents need a tv show!!
Wed Mar 22, 2006 at 6:24 pmYour and Joe’s hospitality is legendary–it’s only right that people would turn up to help with your move! I’m glad to see you moving back into the ol’ stompin grounds, even if they will look nothing like I remember them.
Wed Mar 22, 2006 at 10:46 pmOlt - I couldn’t agree more. I think everyone knows that Joe and Monique would give you the shirt off their backs!! And it makes perfect sense that we all want to help! I can’t wait to see the house!!
Thu Mar 23, 2006 at 8:29 amThanks guys, that really means a lot! We’re excited for the first gathering in the new digs! :p
Thu Mar 23, 2006 at 2:11 pmYes Shana . . . if they were generous but had bad interior design sensibilities, I might reconsider my eagerness to help. But as it is, ya just know things are going to look fantastic.
J/K. Have a great day tomorrow, and don’t forget about the Annunciation!
