Congratulations to Me!
We attended my company’s cocktail casino holiday party this Saturday and had fun. We played with chips and then cashed in said chips for tickets and then put the tickets in a box for a drawing for the prizes that we wanted to win. I won one of the prizes! Yay!
Since I planned the event, I also chose the 9 prizes and even put together four gift baskets (two with wine, one martini basket, and one “Movie Night In” basket) for some of them. Joe was after the iPod but I really wanted the gift certificate to The Mission Inn, in old town Riverside. This is a great weekend get-a-way and just a short drive away. While there, you can go to Temecula for wine tasting, which you all know I love, and the Mission Inn is a beautiful historic building rich in decor and interesting architecture. Anyway….I WON IT!!!
I’m thinking about taking Joe with me…we’ll see… *wink*
Joe - how boring! What about a girl’s weekend!! Ha-ha! Congratulations!! It’s nice to win something that you really want. I rarely win things. Tim reminded me that I won tickets to a Glen Miller concert on New Year’s Eve so many moons ago. And the seats were so awful that we left!
Wed Dec 21, 2005 at 5:44 pmUnfortunately, sometimes people cut corners or don’t pay as much attention as if they were getting these prizes for themselves. If Joe and I can have a fun time staying at the Sahara in Las Vegas (oldest big hotel on the strip…totally old skool but not in a good way) I think we can make light of any situation!
My mom took a tour of the Mission Inn with a group of wives of the Knights of Columbus (my dad is the grand knight in his area and they were down here for a convention) and she told me that we just had to see it. It was fate that we won, I tell you!
Sorry Glen Miller wasn’t fabulous…I would have been excited to have won that.
