Fa la la la la, la la la la
I realized today that I have something planned every night this week. It really is the holiday season and there’s so much to do. Over the weekend, Joe and I pulled down all of the Christmas decoration boxes and started to clean out the garage. We seem to be in more of a purging mood as of late, which is excellent! There were things in some of the boxes that I wondered what the heck we were thinking in keeping those things!
Tonight is our usual Amazing Race viewing with friends at our place, although I’m unsure if that will happen since we’re all so busy. If not, I plan to decorate. Since Joe and I will be visiting my family in Northern California this Christmas and then off to Bass Lake to spend New Year’s Eve with Karie, Gordon, Ireland, and Joyce, we won’t be getting a tree again this year. It’s just too much since we won’t be home for over a week. I’m kind of sad about not getting a tree but I have fake garland and lighst for the stair bannister as well as a wreath that my mom made for us to put on the door. Even without a tree, there’s a lot to put up.
Good news is that I’m at least half way done with Christmas shopping…and plan to do a little this Thursday night with friends from work. We’re going to hit South Coast Plaza and the surround stores. I’m used to shopping on my own or with Joe for the holidays…so it will be interesting to go with people that may have a different agenda.
I hope that this holiday season finds you all happy and well. It is an amazing time of year!
They have great wreathes at Trader Joe’s - at least your house can smell great! We ended up getting a fake tree. The Pacific Northwest girl in my was unhappy at first, but they died in about 2 weeks in our weather and they are expensive! Anyway, have a great holiday season!
Wed Nov 30, 2005 at 10:02 amYeah, I saw those wreathes at Trader Joe’s the other day for around 10 bucks. Fantastic price. I’m considering it.
Wed Nov 30, 2005 at 10:49 amI got one of the eucalyptus wreaths - I love it! You just can’t beat Trader Joe’s for the price!
Wed Nov 30, 2005 at 11:04 amI thought about putting some evergreen branches around the house but I wonder how fast they’d dry out and get nasty. I doubt that spraying them with water would help either.
Hmmmm…maybe I’ll break out the candles. I’m not much into fake pine scent but I got a yankee candle for Christmas last year…maybe I’ll give it a shot.
