On Friday afternoon I received an interesting email titled, “Hey, what are you doing tonight?” on my flickr account. I was kind of leary of the email at first but then I saw who it was from…{platinum}. I’ve commented on a few of her pictures and recently we’ve added one another as “contacts” on flickr. She has an amazing eye for photography and loves high contrast images.

Recently I noticed that she’s been following me…not really but she and her hubby just happened to be in San Francisco the weekend we were there, and recently she posted pictures of Catalina (Joe took me there in May for our anniversary). I was facinated to know that someone I have so much in common with could live just a few cities over. But I digress…

Her email was very sweet and mentioned that we both live in OC, that I have cool taste in music (which we all know is absolutely true *wink*) and that our cats must have been seperated at birth (her cat Topper looks like Owen’s brother). She also said that her band The Falling Stars (which happens to also include her husband) was playing at a place in Huntington Beach called Martini Blues and she had a few tickets if I was interested. Was I! How fun to be exposed to some new music and meet someone with whom I have so much in common!

The show was great, they are a tight band and you can tell they love what they do. I’d classify their music as good ‘ol rock n’ roll. {platinum} can really sing and she commands her electric bass as she flirts with her audience.

After the show we got to meet and were introduced to the band, her husband, and their friends. What a great bunch of people! Joe and I joined them at Norms for breakfast and didn’t get home until about 3am. Joe took a picture of me and {platinum} with my mobile phone just as we said goodbye.
