Thought I Would Impress…
So, in the mornings sometimes I listen to a CD on the way to work but most often I have my radio tuned to Indie 103.1 for Dicky Barrett’s (you may remember him from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones) morning show. Last…Friday I believe…there was a rather punchy young man as a guest. Usually there’s a fair amount of talk and then some music. Every once in awhile we’re lucky and the guest will play something live…as was the case this particular morning.
I was so impressed with the songs that I had to pull a piece of paper out of my purse (which is still my little black evening purse that I haven’t switched since the wedding bonanza a few weeks ago) that just so happened to be short of random papers. I scribbled the name of the guy and some songs that I liked on the back of a receipt or something…so excited to share this information with Joe because of how poppy the music was. I knew instantly that he’d love these songs as much as I did.
Yup…I was right. He already has one of his albums. Great.
I am, of course, talking about Brendan Benson. The songs that I liked were “Spit it Out”, “Cold Hands, Warm Heart”, and “Tiny Spark”. If you do not currently own this fantastic music, go out and purchase it…and share it with your spouse instead of keeping it a secret!
