Everybody Has to Cross the River, but…
This is a fun little IQ test from China: “Everybody has to cross the river”
The object:
Fairly cut and dry…try to get everyone to the other side of the river.
The following rules apply:
- Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
- The father can not stay with any of the daughters without their mother’s presence
- The mother can not stay with any of the sons without their father’s presence
- The thief (striped shirt) can not stay with any family member if the Policeman is not there
- Only the Father, the Mother and the Policeman know how to operate the raft

Game Play:
- To start, click on the big blue circle on the right.
- To move the people, click on them.
- To move the raft, click on the pole on the opposite side of the river.

Mon Jul 25, 2005 at 10:45 amI hate to nitpick, but the game is actually Chinese — I can read Japanese and some Chinese, and those are Chinese characters on the opening page. I don’t know where someone got the idea that it was a Japanese game.

Gerry, you need to bring people back and forth. Meaning that sometimes you need to bring one person to the other side and bring another person back with you so that they don’t beat eachother up. When I have some time I’ll do the puzzle again and post the answer.
