Unproductive Day
This has been one of those days where I really couldn’t concentrate on work. Not that I haven’t done any…just that I’m not all that into it. Of course…now I’m not really working…
Anyway, I’ve been thinking a lot about a new camera. Not that we can afford one but I can dream, can’t I? Joe and I both like to take pictures when we go places. Anytime either of us post pics from somewhere we’ve gone together, you never know who took the picture because we both use the camera. That in itself warrants an additional camera, right? We should each have one…and I’d get the new one…right?
That being said, I think I’d get myself another Canon. We really like the interface and the performance of the PowerShot G3 that we currently have. However, I’d like something with more megapixels and the ability to change out the lens. The Canon D10 or D20 seem to be great choices…both fulfilling my requirements. Now…to find $900!
This doesn’t seem unreasonable to me after seeing that there are 11 megapixel cameras out there, selling for thousands of dollars. Right?
That’s an interesting way to justify it… Now I wanna see where you get $900.
Sat Jun 25, 2005 at 11:25 amI’d like to get a D20 so I could use my old lenses, and especially my circular polarizing filter!
Sun Jun 26, 2005 at 2:52 pmI’ve got an old Kodak 110 you can probably just have…or have for pretty cheap. I comes with the camera, and a bag and a strap. I should probably clarify that it’s in a box in my parents’ basement, and it might take some time for me to actually get up there and root around and find it. There’s also a chance that it might have gotten thrown out. But if it hasn’t, and I can find it, it’s yours. Like I said, either for free, or we can talk price later. You can add those flash-bulb sticks to the top if you want to take pictures in low light, or indoors, too.
Sun Jun 26, 2005 at 10:19 pmWow…a Kodak 110! Thank you, thank you! I begged for a Kodak disc 6000 when I was younger and think I still have it. Not sure they make film for either of these anymore but that’s an idea! Thanks Tim!
Mon Jun 27, 2005 at 9:30 amHow about we all coordinate a fundraising effort for you? Some of us can wash cars, host a bake sale or set up a lemonaid stand. We should have that $900 for you in..well…about a year. But look on the bright side by that time the price will have gone down.
Mon Jun 27, 2005 at 6:04 pmReally, I feel that you need this camera! Maybe Joe could get a paper route to pay for it - his job is flexible. And while he’s at it - I need a camera too!
Tue Jun 28, 2005 at 10:35 amHe’s up late enough…he could just deliver the paper before he goes to bed. You know, when most people are getting up in the morning.
Tue Jun 28, 2005 at 11:50 amYou don’t need ANOTHER camera. You ALREADY have a good one. Think of all those starving children in Somalia, is wanting of this material possession of this world such as a second 900 dollar camera really truly sit on your conscience comfortably without ANY guilt of what it means, in the scheme of the total of our human kind…while others can barely afford bread or a pack of cigarettes???? HUMMMMMM!
Thu Jun 30, 2005 at 12:01 amYes. Yes. I would be fine with that.
At any rate, it’s not going to happen because WE can’t even afford a pack of cigarettes, uhhh, bread.
