Ohhhhhhh!

Just wondering why all of these cops are out recently. They’re everywhere! Let me start with the first sighting…

I went to lunch with a friend from work, Luis, who decided that he would drive since it was just the two of us (the Mazda, Tribute I drive has been lovingly dubbed the “Lunch Mobile” because it fits our lunch crew). There is a spot near work where a sign is posted that says you can’t make a Left turn out of a common lunching spot’s parking lot. People still do it…heck, I’ve done it…but you have to be careful because sometimes a motorcycle cop will hide where he can see you but you don’t see him until it’s too late.

Anyway, on this particular day we were driving towards this particular spot when we saw some poor schmuck who had been pulled over by said motorcycle cop. Luis and I yelled, “Ohhhhh!” and felt bad for the guy.

We continued on our way to lunch, just a little way down the road, when we saw yet another poor schmuck pulled over…and we again yelled, “Ohhhhh!” but this time with a little more fervor! We decided that instead of just the regular cop, they had added one for good measure. This way when you’re leaving the parking lot and you see the cop pulling someone else over, you think you can make the Left hand turn without repercussion. Then the other cop nabs you!

We continued on towards the driveway when we saw a third motorcycle cop, parked and waiting…hidden right next to the driveway. To which we yelled, “OHHHHH!” and started laughing. Needless to say, Luis drove the speed limit and did not make a Left hand turn out of the driveway on the way back to work.

Since that day I’ve seen more cops than I ever have in one week. Yesterday there were three on 55 South and today I saw another three drive by me on the way into work. What’s up?

In other Karmic news, my friend Raquel and I went to lunch yesterday for what we call “Carwash Lunch”. We both drive our cars to this one Chevron station that has a great car wash, drop off the cars to be washed and then walk to one of the lunch joints in the same parking lot. Yesterday we chose Quiznos…but that’s besides the point. Raquel called me last night to exclaim that a bird had shat all over the hood of her car and onto her windshield as she was driving home from work. Are all of you singing Alanis Morissette too?
