I logged onto my blog this morning only to find that my post on SNL last week has exploded with over 170 comments due to the scene by Ashley Simpson on SNL last night. It seems that instead of performing live, as most musical guests do, Simpson decided to lip-sync. I mean, it’s not like the girl does any amazing dancing during her sets. During her first song all she did was walk up and down with her pelvis sticking out and her head back.

After Jude Law introduced her for the second song, there seemed to be a malfunction with the lip sync track (they accidentally played the track she had already “performed”) and Simpson broke into a little ho-down and then proceeded to walk off stage leaving her band to pick up the pieces. SNL cut to commercials and when they came back they continued the show with skits. During the goodbye Simpson apologized saying that her band started playing the wrong song so she decided to do a little ho-down. Alright, whatever.

Poetic justice if you ask me. I thought that SNL was a little more selective when choosing their musical guests…guess I was wrong. I hope that we see a little SNL skit next week about this.
