Tag Your Man!
I guess we’ve been watching a lot of musical shows while training our new Tivo unit because it’s been recording some interesting suggestions for us. Has anyone else seen DANCE 360? I watched the entire 30-minute show one evening and was laughing…out loud…by myself. By the time it had recorded another one and I had a chance to show Joe, I could already tell you who was going to win…but I digress a tad.
It seems that what we all needed was a taste of the 3-6-0…BOOYA! DANCE 360 is a…yep, you guessed it…dance show. You can enter to be a part of the “audience” who stands in around during the show. You have a chance to be chosen by one of the hosts to dance the 360…which, from what I can gather means that you get to dance in the circle in the middle. While there, you compete with the other chosen few for an Xbox, some cash, and a few other prizes.
It goes a little something like this…let’s say that I’m chosen to dance. I get to go into the circle and show my stuff and then I stand off the side. There are five other people chosen to dance. One at a time they are introduced and they have a chance to show their stuff. Then the competition begins. Let’s say that I get to start it off…I go out there and dance until the DJ scratches. That’s the signal to “Tag Your Man”. So, I point to someone that I call out to dance and step aside and let s/he have their shot. When the DJ scratches again we go “Head to Head” and both dance in the circle. Then the “audience” around us cheers for their favorite. This goes on and on until there is only one person left. It really is something to see for the sheer comical value of hearing them all chant, “Tag your man, tag you man, tag your man, Tag-your-man!”

Dang, those fools are off the hook! I suppose I would start laughing in disbelief at some of the moves they’re pulling off. Pretty amazing stuff!
Mon Oct 4, 2004 at 7:12 pmI guess I find it strange that this is around now. If it were to have aired in the early 90’s it would have made more sense to me. Not sure if it’s because I was in High School and as such, was younger. Or, if the time period seemed a better “market” for this type of show. I’m sure I’m just getting old.
I’ll be 30 in February, you know.
